The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority is required by law to make and maintain a Local Transport Plan for the region. The Local Transport and Connectivity Plan (LTCP) is the Combined Authority’s long-term strategy to improve transport and shape the future of transport in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough. The draft LTCP has 11 objectives spread across the six goals (productivity, connectivity, health, safety, environment and climate).
Key changes to the vision and goals in the updated plan are:
- A more detailed vision describing how transport will improve the region for all, and a greater balance between economic, environmental and social goals.
- Putting better public health and fairer society at the centre of the vision.
- Greater focus on climate and the environment by making them two separate objectives.
- Focusing more on the internet and digital technology is key to better connecting the region.
